It is a fast long distance solo packraft with a long, narrow shape and a removable skeg which provides far improved tracking, but now with extra length and width for taller paddlers and carrying huge amounts of gear. It has a centrally positioned seat and a symmetrical bow and stern; it is the ultimate packraft for longer distance paddling, sharing the same MRS packraft qualities of durable construction, high quality materials and design, light weight and that all important packability. The S1D variant of the MRS Nomad packraft has the very popular D type spray deck and spray skirt.

A Paqualife exclusive model, the MRS Nomad S1D XL is a larger version of the renowned MRS Nomad S1D. Ideal for taller paddlers, e.g. those 6ft and taller. More leg room, greater weight capacity, more space to carry gear on the bow (front) and stern (back). Ideal in combination with the MRS Adjustable Footrest – DIY

The main differences between the MRS Nomad S1D XL and the MRS Nomad S1 XL is that the “D” version has the Dual use spray deck (see Which spraydeck is right for me? for more information), with zips either side so it can be rolled forward if an open cockpit is desired and a 840d TPU floor compared to the 420d TPU used for the “non-D” version. The MRS Nomad S1D XL also comes with a spray skirt.

This packraft includes removable and adjustable backrest with extra supportive rods, making this packraft easy to adjust to provide you with the most comfortable paddling position.

This packraft is also made using double coated TPU for the floor (840D) and tubes (210D) making it both extremely light and durable. TPU is UV-resistant, durable and makes use of sewn and welded seams.

The MRS Nomad S1D XL can be used on both calm coastal waters, or river and lakes. It is also suited to white water. If you are after a packraft that can do a bit of everything, the MRS Nomad S1 is for you. Being larger and longer, it isn’t as responsive to turn as models such as the MRS Microraft, but it makes up for it by being the ultimate longer distance tourer. An incredibly efficient packraft with a streamlined design and a large weight capacity to carry loads of gear, including if required, your bike.

It is also an additional option to have the MRS Nomad S1D XL with the infamous Internal Storage System (ISS) TiZIP which allows you to store your items within the tubes; handy for things such as coats, boots, sleeping bags and other small travel accessories. As the MRS Nomad S1D XL is a great touring packraft, if you select the ISS option, it comes with two ISS zips for even more storage options. This helps to reduce clutter within the packraft whilst making water crossings or touring. It also helps to lower the centre of gravity for even better tracking.
