Description
The Packa Enduro X paddle is a paddle built specifically for packrafting and endurance.
This paddle splits into four separate sections for ease of transport and only weighs 738g – perfect for those long distance adventures. The lower weight and smaller blade takes less effort to lift and pull each stroke. The blades have been specifically designed for packrafting – this is an entirely new innovative product.
The new smaller sized blades:
New even lighter weight, possibly one of the lightest paddles on the market!
With the smaller blades, the number of strokes per minute can increase, with each pull of the paddle having less impact in terms of sway and as such, is a more suited design to a packraft. Paddles with large blades, whilst generating allot of pull power, can cause a packraft to sway, reducing efficiency.
The right paddle angle:
As Packrafts are generally wider than hard kayaks or canoes, the paddle generally enters the water a little further from the side of the boat. With a smaller blade, coupled with an optimum length at 230cm, the paddle enters the water at the perfect angle, reducing required effort and reducing water dripping onto the packraft.
A totally new design of blade:
These blades are not scaled-down versions of larger paddles. The curvature of the blade’s arc has been optimised to meet the new thrust requirements, ensuring a smoother and more efficient paddle stroke.
A new narrower paddle shaft:
The new 26mm diameter shaft with silicone grips improves grip comfort and reduces the amount of material required, therefore reducing weight.
The intended use of this paddle is not whitewater, but rather long-distance paddling and recreational paddling. By contrast, a whitewater paddle will require a steeper paddle angle and larger blade.
The paddle blades are made from a fibreglass and nylon composite.
